Worship Team Onboarding

If you are interested in joining the worship team, see our audition information.

Dress code

Our aim is to help set the tone for worship and complement the service in every aspect. We should avoid causing unnecessary distractions through our actions or dress.

Please review these tips when selecting clothes to wear while leading worship:

  1. While looking in a mirror, raise your arms as high as possible and swing them in all directions to ensure you are not inappropriately revealing skin.
  2. Jump around to ensure your movement is not distracting or revealing skin. If so, please change or cover with a blazer or jacket.
  3. Please make sure clothes are not wrinkled.
  4. If you have any questions, ask the Pastor or Worship Leader.

In general,

  • Avoid distracting colors, patterns, slogans, and graphics.
  • No mini skirts, shorts, halter/crop tops, or shredded jeans.

Expectations

Song lists and scheduling. Sunday song lists will be sent out by Monday through the Planning by WorshipTools app. If you are scheduled, accept the invite if you are available or decline it if you are not. Song lists are subject to change as the Holy Spirit, Pastor, or Worship Leader see fit.

Be prepared. For vocalists, this means know lyrics and know if you are leading melody or singing harmony (indicated in the Planning app; we will sort parts out during rehearsal). Know your lyrics before rehearsal. For instrumentalists, this means know the list, have charts, and be familiar with the music before service.

Attend rehearsals. Sunday service rehearsals begin at 9:15. Please be at least five minutes early to prepare.

Live a lifestyle of worship. You must exhibit spiritual devotion and a biblical moral compass. 11 a.m. shouldn't be the first time you've worshipped God all week!
